The Inception IMAX poster is very cool and relatively rare. I have a double-sided copy that I am certain is original.  It has sharp text, very high quality paper, and the reverse is lighter/whiter than the front.

Not surprisingly, various shady dealers have been selling digital reproductions of this poster that they label as “originals.”  Tloceposters (Thomas Loce) sold a single-sided fake digital reproduction to a member of the All Poster Forum, who sent me the poster for comparison.

Any dealer or collector would instantly recognize that Loce’s copy was a fake reprint because the text is fuzzy and out-of-focus.  The Warner Logo is extremely fuzzy.  In other words, it is a typical digital reproduction.

Comparing it to my original provided further proof that it is fake.  The title is red on the reprint but more orange on the original.  The photo/artwork on the reprint is of decent quality but slightly grainier than the original's.  The text on the original is intense blue but very light blue on the repro. The "Experience It In IMAX" is pure white on the original but light blue on the reprint.

The fake reprint is slightly small - 26 7/8 x 39 7/8. My original DS is 26 15/16 x 39 15/16. The repro is just a tad cropped on the right.

P.S. Loce gave a full refund to the buyer, although he made the ludicrous excuse that it was “impossible” to discern that it was a fake. Lesson: Avoid sellers like tloceposters and buy double-sided posters when possible.
